The Asogli State Council has officially destooled Togbe Afiatsoa III, the Mankrado of Ho Bankoe, citing persistent misconduct and insubordination.
The decision was announced during a traditional ceremony at the Asogli State Palace, where customary rites—including the pouring of libation and slaughtering of a ram were performed to signify the destoolment.
A statement issued by Stephen Tetteh, Secretary of the Asogli State Council, outlined the reasons for the decision, describing Togbe Afiatsoa III’s actions as a gross disregard for Traditional Authority.
“Over an extended period, he has exhibited gross disregard for Traditional Authority, deliberately denigrated the revered Agbogbome Stool and persistently brought the name of Asogli into disrepute”.
The Council revealed that Togbe Afiatsoa III had resorted to social media and public platforms to spread falsehoods and misinformation, despite multiple attempts to caution him.
“Sadly, he chose to spurn all such opportunities and instead resorted to the reckless use of social media and other public platforms to spread falsehoods, cast aspersions, and peddle misinformation aimed at undermining the image, integrity, and cohesion of the traditional leadership of both Ho and the larger Asogli State”.
The destoolment followed exhaustive consultations and a unanimous agreement by the Elders, Chiefs, and Kingmakers of the Asogli State.
As of now, Togbe Afiatsoa III ceases to be recognized in any capacity as Mankrado of Ho Bankoe.
