Assin-North: NPP have schnapps and are threatening us with “Duabo” if… – Voter

A voter in the ongoing by-election at the Assin North Constituency has disclosed that the members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) have threatened to curse voters with bottles of schnapps after offering money to them.

In a startling revelation during an interview on Happy 98. 9 FM the voter shed light on alleged intimidation tactics employed by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The voter expressed concerns about the NPP’s approach to securing votes, claiming that they were resorting to unconventional means.

“Both NDC and NPP are giving us money to vote, but NPP have schnapps and are threatening to curse us if we don’t vote for them,” the voter revealed. This revelation has raised eyebrows and stirred controversy within the local political landscape.

The voter however, remained resolute in their stance against such tactics, stating, “I want to make them know this isn’t the way of politics.” The individual highlighted the stark contrast in the strategies employed by the two major political parties. According to them, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) acknowledges one’s affiliation with the NPP but offers financial incentives to secure their vote.

Concerns were also raised regarding the consequences of the NPP’s alleged curses. The voter questioned whether those who were being threatened with “Duabo” would encounter any actual repercussions from the party in the years to come.

The voter concluded by issuing a stern warning to the NPP, stating, “I’m telling the NPP folks that if they lose the by-elections, it’s only by their deeds.” This statement reflects the sentiment among some voters who believe that the outcome of an election should be determined by merit, policies, and the genuine support of the people, rather than through intimidation or supernatural coercion.

Happy 98.9 FM has reached out to the NPP for a comment on the voter’s claims but is yet to receive a response. Stay tuned as we work to bring you the party’s stance on the matter and any further developments in the ongoing by-election.
