Ayigya Zongo has made history by winning the Salafest Cooking Challenge for the second consecutive year, defeating five other community teams in a thrilling culinary showdown at Atonsu New Market, High School Junction on Saturday, June 21st, 2025. The back-to-back champions walked away with a complete refrigerator and assorted products from sponsors, cementing their dominance in YFM 102.5 Kumasi’s premier cooking competition.

The competition featured six talented group contestants representing various communities across Kumasi, including teams from Asewaase, Moshie Zongo, Ayigya Zongo, and Tafo Zongo. Each team demonstrated exceptional skills in preparing traditional Ghanaian dishes including banku, tuo zaafi, jollof rice, and other beloved local favourites, creating an atmosphere of friendly rivalry and cultural celebration.

The competition concluded with generous rewards for all participating teams. The victorious Ayigya Zongo team took home a complete refrigerator along with assorted products from sponsors, cementing their status as back-to-back champions. The second-place team received GHS 1,000 in cash plus additional sponsor products, while the third-place finishers were awarded GHS 500 in cash and sponsor products. Teams finishing in fourth, fifth, and sixth positions were each rewarded with shopping vouchers from Pomo, ensuring that every participant left the competition with recognition for their culinary efforts.
