Medeama SC according to reports has chosen the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi as the venue for their CAF Champions League group stage matches. Despite playing their qualifying matches at the Cape Coast Stadium, the defending Ghana Premier League champions have decided on Kumasi for their group stage fixtures, a decision corroborated by a statement from the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Medeama finds itself in Group D of the competition, pitted against reigning champions Al Ahly SC, Algerian champions CR Belouizdad, and Tanzanian giants Young Africans. The team from Tarkwa will kick off their group stage campaign with an away match against Al Ahly in Cairo, followed by a home clash with Belouizdad at the Baba Yara Stadium. Subsequent home games will see them face Young Africans and Al Ahly.

The CAF Champions League group stage matches are scheduled to commence on Friday, November 25, 2023, and conclude on March 1 and 2, 2024. In their debut season in Africa’s premier club league, Medeama will look to draw support from their Kumasi-based fans, aiming for a significant impact as they navigate the challenging group stage.
