12 players hospitalized after Tamale City attack- Coach reveals

The Public Relations Officer for Baffour Soccer FC, Bismarck Oppong, has said that Tamale City may have inflicted and masterminded the assault they suffered on Sunday.

Tamale City were attacked by some unknown fans after their game against Baffour Soccer FC in Nsutare in the Division One League.

The team was on its way to Tamale where some unscrupulous person attacked the team’s bus.

12 players were injured after the attack and admitted at the University of Energy and Natural Resource hospital in Sunyani.

Speaking on the matter with Happy Sports, Bismarck Oppong claimed their fans had nothing to do with the attack.

“Tamale City came with a bad mind. Their approach to the game was bad”, he told Ohene-Bampoe Brenya on Happy Sports.

“Tamale City may have inflicted those injuries on themselves. Yesterday we decided to bring in 14 policeman for the game per our duties as the home team. Later there were about 10-15 military men without the consent of us the home team. I was at the stadium more than one hour after the game. They should tell us where they were attacked.

“There is a certain pattern which states that Tamale City may have a power that is helping them. We are telling the powers that be to stop”, he added.
