American statesman and former president Barrack Obama has sent wishes of recovery to immediate past president of the United States Joe Biden as his prostate cancer reaches an ‘aggressive’ turn.

Reports indicate that , former U.S. President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that has metastasized to his bones. The diagnosis was confirmed by his office on May 18, 2025 – four months after his exit from office.

The cancer which was part of reports of medical evaluations prompted by urinary symptoms is characterized by a Gleason score of 9, indicating a high-risk, aggressive disease. However, it is hormone-sensitive, which allows for effective management through treatments such as hormone therapy, surgery, and radiotherapy.

Obama extended his thoughts of solace to Biden in an X post where he acknowledged the efforts of former president Biden in combatting cancer in all its forms – a mission which is believed to be highly motivated by the loss of his son through cancer of the brain. “Michelle and I are thinking of the entire Biden family. Nobody has done more to find breakthrough treatments for cancer in all its forms than Joe, and I am certain he will fight this challenge with his trademark resolve and grace.”

“We pray for a fast and full recovery.” Barrack Obama said.
