Former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has opened up a strong lead in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) upcoming presidential primary, according to a new nationwide survey by Global Info Analytics.

The poll, conducted from November 17 to 21, 2025, shows Dr Bawumia ahead in 14 out of the country’s 16 regions. He leads in Ahafo, Ashanti, Bono, Bono East, Eastern, Greater Accra, North East, Northern, Oti, Savannah, Upper East, Upper West, Western and Western North.

The race is tight in the Central Region, where delegates are almost evenly divided, while Kennedy Agyapong is reported to be in the lead in the Volta Region.

Global Info Analytics says the findings point to Dr Bawumia’s broad regional appeal, though several areas remain competitive as delegates gear up to vote in January 2026.

The survey sampled 3,500 delegates nationwide, with a 99% confidence level and a margin of error of ±2.12%.

Using a “likely voters” model, the poll puts Dr Bawumia at 42.7%, followed by Kennedy Agyapong with 17.7%, Dr. Bryan Acheampong with 4.6%, Dr Yaw Adutwum with 0.3% and Kwabena Agyapong also at 0.3%.

Additionally, 14.9% of delegates declined to reveal their preferred candidate, while 19.3% remain undecided.
