Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former Vice President of Ghana, has declared his readiness to hit the campaign trail following a successful vetting session with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Tuesday, September 23, in Accra.
Speaking to journalists after the vetting, Dr. Bawumia described the process as “thorough and productive,” expressing satisfaction with the committee’s engagement. “They asked many questions, and I answered them all. I’m very pleased with how it went and hopeful the committee feels the same,” he said.
With the vetting phase complete, Dr. Bawumia emphasized that his team is now focused on reaching out to delegates across the country. “We’re moving straight into campaigning. I’m grateful to the rank and file of the party for their support,” he noted.
Despite his high-profile background, Dr. Bawumia made it clear that his campaign would be grounded in hard work and direct engagement.
“We’re not taking anything for granted. We’ll be out there selling our ideas and promoting the NPP’s vision to secure the nomination and prepare for victory in the 2028 elections,” he affirmed.
