After a long silence on the MenzGold brouhaha, famous Ghanaian musician, Becca has opened up on why she rallied behind the company’s campaign.
She explained the reasons for her involvement in the MenzGold campaign in an interview with Happy’s FM DJ Advicer on the “Ayekoo After Drive” show.
With an analogy, she hinted that she was not fully aware of all the operations of MenzGold Company and as such it will be unfair to criticize her.
“We as celebrities build our brand to a certain stage for endorsement. So every celebrity is looking for endorsement. Therefore my involvement in MenzGold is like saying that I have been signed onto Happy FM and eventually a problem arises that sparks anger in people. If others should get angry with me because of that problem at Happy FM, it will be unfair to me because I wouldn’t know the in-depth work of Happy FM. However as a brand, I would only know the front part of it and that’s what I will go for”, she explained.
She, on the other hand, expressed her sympathy to customers of MenzGold by stating: ” People were clearly not happy and I did not expect everyone to be happy. People have gone through trauma because of their locked up money”.
Becca was one of the celebrities who came under heavy criticisms by customers of MenzGold for endorsing the Company through an advertising campaign.
