betPawa Ghana Premier League Transfer 2022-23 season: Confirmed deals

betpawa’s decision to terminate its sponsorship of the Ghana Premier League has left many stakeholders disappointed. The partnership was originally set for three years, but after only a year and three months, Betpawa has chosen to withdraw.

Initially, betPawa and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) signed a three-year sponsorship agreement, which allowed for annual renewals. However, betPawa has now decided to end the partnership in their best interest.

The GFA had announced betPawa as the official headline sponsor of the Ghana Premier League on August 3, 2022, with the aim of enhancing the league’s marketing and status to become one of Africa’s most successful and attractive leagues.

Betpawa had committed to investing $6 million over the three-year deal, with over $2 million already paid during their just over a year of involvement.

This development is a significant setback, especially for the clubs, which will now have to rely solely on broadcasting rights revenue from Startimes.

Before Betpawa’s involvement, the league had experienced several seasons without a headline sponsor, making the initial deal a cause for celebration, despite its shorter duration than expected.
