Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Björkegren has unveiled a 24-player squad for Ghana’s upcoming 2026 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers against Egypt.

The squad sees familiar faces like goalkeepers Cynthia Fiindib Konlan and Afi Amenyaku, who bring calm and assurance between the posts. Defensive pillars Portia Boakye, Comfort Yeboah, and Susan Ama Duah headline a backline built on strength and leadership.

In midfield, creativity meets control with Grace Asantewaa, Jennifer Cudjoe, Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah, Evelyn Badu, and Stella Nyamekye pulling the strings. Two emerging stars — Helen Alormenu and Sharon Sampson — earn their maiden senior call-ups, a reward for their consistency and drive.

Up front, Ghana will look to the experience and sharp instincts of Alice Kusi, Doris Boaduwaa, Princella Adubea, and Mary Amponsah to deliver the goals.

Coach Björkegren’s final list also features trusted names like Ernestina Abambila, Josephine Bonsu, Nina Norshie, Anasthesia Achiaa, and Louisa Aniwaa, whose recent performances have helped the team build confidence and cohesion.

With the first leg set for October 23 in Ismailia and the return fixture on October 28 in Accra, the Black Queens are ready to take another big step toward reclaiming their place among Africa’s elite.
