Former Black Stars talisman Mohammed ‘Polo’ Ahmed has taken a jab at the combination of top coaches at the Black Stars team.
Speaking on Anopa Bosuo Sports on Happy FM, the ‘Dribbling Magician’ as he was affectionately called during his primes believes that, the combination of Kwasi Appiah, Maxwell Konadu and Ibrahim Tanko at the senior national team is very wrong and hence, would limit their expertise and under usage of their qualities.
“It’s wrong to have both Tanko Ibrahim and Maxwell Konadu as assistants to Kwesi Appiah at the Black Stars; because if Kwasi fails, the trio will be considered failures and hence will all be fired”.
The 1978 Africa Cup of Nations winner said, putting together all the former players at the Black Stars is like putting all your eggs into one basket
“It’s unreasonable to put all the former players together to manage only one team. Their expertise must be diversified at the various national teams. Giving them other teams to manage will enable them get the Black Stars job if Appiah fails. Tanko should be given the u20 to manage” he added.
