The Police, together with the rescue team, are advancing in the investigation and the truck of the Arthanns Transport Services company that was transporting explosives to a mine in western Ghana suffered a fatality, caused by the frontal collision of a motorcycle. The fortuitous accident and responsibility of the motorcyclist caused 13 deaths as the last balance 24 hours after the event; as well as some 500 buildings destroyed or seriously affected.

The impact between the motorcycle and the truck was so strong that it caused a huge crater at the site of the collision, according to graphic sources, from a photo shared by the local politician from Apiate, a settlement between the towns of Bogoso and Bawdie.

National Disaster Management Organization, continues with an extensive rescue operation and plans to continue in the next few hours. The operation has managed to rescue dozens of survivors who are being evacuated to medical centers in the capital, Accra; and the operation led by Amadonu also appreciates the citizen collaboration under his command.

The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources continues with the open investigation, and in coordination with the Police, since the convoy with explosives for mining use from the company Arthanns Transport Services was destined for the Chirano mining area, 75 kilometers from the accident. Sources close to the investigation say that Arthanns Transport Services is a very solvent and experienced company in this type of service to the country’s mining industry, and that it works for most of the mines and their auxiliary industry on a regular basis.
