The police has recovered the body of the latest victim who is a male bus conductor in the ongoing ‘Wa killings’ on July 15, 2024.

While the exact circumstances of his death are unknown, the conductor was found behind a trailer loaded with salt with his throat cut.

This tragic discovery raises the total number of unexplained Wa killings to 17 in a short period.

According to sources, the victim, Richard Opoku, had accompanied a trailer transporting salt to Wa, intending to offload the cargo upon arrival.

However, upon reaching Wa, Richard Opoku and the driver were unable to offload the salt, so they went to the house of the salt owner.

The driver of the trailer stayed overnight in the vehicle using a mosquito net.

However Opoku was invited to spend the night in a room at the salt owner’s house but chose to rest on the verandah for a few hours before going to bed.

The next morning, traces of blood were found on the verandah without him there.

A search was conducted leading to the discovery of his body behind the trailer lying prostrate in a pool of blood with is throat cut.

The police have since started investigations and have detained both the salt owner and the trailer driver for further questioning.
