Dreams FC head coach Karim Zito has expressed his disappointment following his team’s 3-0 defeat to Zamalek SC in the CAF Confederation Cup semi-final second leg on Sunday in Kumasi.

“The 3-0 defeat is a very painful one considering the numerous chances we created,” Zito lamented in an interview on Happy Sports. “We had opportunities, but we couldn’t convert them.”

Dreams FC’s dream run in the Confederation Cup came to an end at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi. The Ghanaian side conceded early goals due to defensive lapses in the 12th and 27th minutes, putting them on the back foot from the start.

“We conceded the first two goals due to lack of concentration,” admitted Zito. “This gave Zamalek a significant advantage, and it proved difficult to recover.”

Despite falling behind, Dreams FC showed fighting spirit and created goal-scoring opportunities. However, their efforts were not enough to overcome the experienced Egyptian team.

“I’m proud of my players,” Zito said. “They’ve defied expectations throughout this competition. We may not have reached the final, but this journey has been a valuable learning experience for the entire team.”

Dreams FC will now shift their focus to the remaining matches in the Ghana Premier League season .They are currently 15th on the league log after match week 28 with 4 outstanding matches still to play.
