Hearts of Oak have drawn Algerian giants Jeunesse Sportive de la Saoura in the CAF Confederation Cup play-offs.
The Ghana Premier League champions dropped to Africa’s second-tier competition after a disastrous showing against Moroccan side Wydad Athletic Club in the CAF Champions League.
The Phobians lost 6-2 on aggregate to exit the CAF Champions League.
Hearts of Oak will be looking for redemption in the Confederation Cup by beating JS Saoura to make it to the group stages of the competition.
According to Communications Director Kwame Opare Addo, Hearts of Oak will do well to qualify for the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
“We lost in the Champions League but the Confederation Cup presents another opportunity so we must let Hearts of Oak count, we must remain united”, he told Asempa FM.

Hearts won the maiden edition of the CAF Confederation Cup in 2004, after beating arch-rivals Asante Kotoko in the final.
The first leg will be played on November 28, 2021 in Accra and the second leg on December 5, 2021 in Algeria.
Meanwhile, the Phobians will get enough preparations heading into the game as the Ghana Premier League commences this weekend.
Hearts of Oak begin their title defence against Legon Cities at the Accra Sports Stadium in the 2021-22 Ghana Premier League.
Hearts of Oak would have played three league games before engaging their opponents in the CAF Confederation Cup play-offs.
“We also have a Premier League title to defend. We are positive that the kind of competition we will get from the league will help us prepare for the confederation playoffs”, Opare Addo indicated on the team’s preparations before their CAF Confederation Cup play-offs.
