The Center for Democratic Development (CDD) is an independent, not for profit research and advocacy organization which was founded in 1998. And since 2016, they have worked to advance democracy, good governance and inclusive economic growth.
According to Gildfred Asiamah, a political analyst for the CDD, the organization has been doing surveys regarding the population of the country with its main purpose being to “measure the political atmosphere of the country”.
In an interview with Samuel Eshun on eTV’s Facts Sheet he stated, the survey is normally done to identify the early warning signals of the elections and also to know the preparedness of various institutions and political parties towards the elections.
He also mentioned that another reason for their pre-elections survey is to ”know the level of confidence, gear and concerns citizens have in the various political parties so it can be addressed before the elections” he said.
“The main focus of the CDD is to identify issues of concern so solutions can be found to them before the elections commence and normally our focus is on the adult group,” he said.
