Collaborations go beyond working with other artistes – M.anifest

Ghanaian rapper and songwriter M.anifest has urged fellow musicians to never hesitate to collaborate with creatives in the industry.

On his accord, collaborations go beyond working with featured artistes. “When I talk about collaborations I don’t mean working with other featured artistes alone but I mean working with other producers, creatives and people with the state of mind who fit the studio.”

He notes a musician can consistently drop classic tunes by working with like-minded people who he or she has maintained over a long period of time.

Speaking to Akosua Hanson on Y107.9FM’s Y Lounge show, M.anifest stated, “As a musician, you need to be surrounded by like-minded people. You need to work with people you can relate with and have built a relationship with. This way you don’t need to connect with them at another level when working on a project because we are at that level already. We are at that plane or dimension and we don’t need to discuss what we need to do.”

The versatile rapper admits the musical journey needs different people because there are always different times and spaces but “I think we need to settle in with certain kinds of solid people we understand and understand us too.”

Citing Drake and his producer, Noah “40” Shebib as an example, he believes the musician is doing extremely great because he has stayed with the producer most of his career.
