The Apostle General of the Royalhouse Chapel International, Reverend Sam Korankye Ankrah believes that part of the solution to the government’s fight against the coronavirus outbreak in Ghana is God.

According to him, there is no solution without God.

Speaking in an interview on Hapoy98.9FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’, the renowned christian leader said, “The National prayer and fasting is the right call for us as Ghanaians. We have to seek the face of the Lord. But as we seek the face of the lord, we should also do what is required of us. We should practice the preventive measures too.”

On his authority as the bible requires us to watch and pray, we should also note that watch is the physical and pray is the spiritual aspect of that word. “Practicing the social distancing, washing of hands under running water and using of hand sanitizers are the physical aspect and praying and relying on God is the spiritual and these have to be done side by side,” he noted.

The Apostle General appealed to churches to preach the word of hope at this critical time and should avoid saying things that make people fearful and depressed.

“We have dealt with Ebola and other disesases and surely God will help us again in this one also,” he said.

When asked by host Afrifa Mensah if churches should not help provide logistics and personal protection equipment (PPE’s) to support the fight against the virus, he responded saying it was a misfired gun.

“Mama Rita shared rice and oil to senior citizens. A lot of churches are doing stuff which is not in the public domain. I want to tell my fellow pastors that we need all hands on deck to fight the virus,” he said.

He also noted that just as The Church of Pentecost (COP) has supported the government in the fight against coronavirus, more churches are soon to follow.

The President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo declared Wednesday, 25th March as a National day of prayer and fasting to seek the grace and face of God as the country fights the coronavirus outbreak.
