Veteran Ghanaian football coach, J E Sarpong, says the current Black Stars team lacks quality.

The Black Stars suffered their first defeat in the ongoing qualifiers against South Africa at the FnB Stadium in Johannesburg.
The team has come under serious backlash from the public and there have been calls for Coach Charles Kwabla Akonnor to be sacked from the team.

Speaking on the team’s poor performance in their last two games in the world cup qualifiers, Coach Sarpong said, “We have names but we do not have quality”, he told Ohene-Bampoe Brenya on Happy Sports.

J E Sarpong took a subtle at Coach CK Akunnor when attacked the vocal nature of the former Ghana Captain. “CK’s hands are tight he is not vocal he is an introvert anybody who can handles the black stars should be an extrovert”.

The Black Stars started their campaign to Qatar 2022 when they managed to beat the Ethiopians at the Cape Coast Stadium with an average performance and lost to Bafana Bafana three days later in South Africa with a depleted side.

Ghana will play Zimbabwe in October at home before a return fixture in Zimbabwe three days later. Black Stars are currently second in the group with 3 points after two games.
