President John Dramani Mahama has described Ghana’s December 7 elections as a “national reawakening,” reflecting a renewed call for honesty, accountability, and performance in governance.
Addressing his first media encounter on Wednesday, September 10, at the Jubilee House, the President said the outcome of the polls was more than a change in leadership it represented a reset in the country’s political direction.
“It was a change of call, not just for leadership, but a change of direction, honesty, accountability, and a reset,” Mahama declared. “We inherited a nation tired of excuses by the political elite, weighed down by hardships and yearning for leadership that performs and not just promises.”
He further assured that his administration is committed to restoring public trust and reviving the economy, noting that Ghanaians voted for tangible results, not rhetoric.
“We’re here to restore the soul of the nation and revive its economy,” the President said.
