One of the leading Conveners of Democracy hub, Naa Densua aged 62, has added her voice to calls for the release of her 8 year old girl grandchild who was arrested during Saturday 21st September’s demonstration in Accra.

Naa Densua who was with the said girl has demanded the police to immediately release the innocent child.

According to her, the police manhandled her and her grandchildren.

“We demand that the police release 8 year old Rose, and ensure that no child is ever again caught in the crossfire of political repression. Let this be the moment that Ghana, and the world, say ‘Enough is enough!’

Speaking at a press conference in Accra, Naa Densua called on child right advocacy groups to intervene, “I am calling on all child advocacy groups, both domestic and international. To UNICEF, Save
the Children, World Vision, and every organisation that claims to stand for the rights and
protection of children – where are you now? We need your voices, your power, and your
intervention”

Meanwhile, the 3-day protest by democracy hub has come to an end with two people being arrested by the police on Monday 23rd September, 2024.
