The deputy minority Leader Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah has cautioned the interior minister Henry Quartey to ensure there is transparency in Security Service Recruitment. The Deputy Leader, in a press conference revealed that the Ghana police Service in a press Statement dated 7th July 2023 indicated that they have been able to clear all backlog from 2021 to 2022.

However The Chronicle News Paper on the 8th July 2024 Published that the Interior Ministry will recruit 11,000 personnel into the Security Service. The report said 3000, personnel will be recruited to the Ghana Immigration Service, 4,000 into the Ghana Police Service, 1500 into Ghana Prisons Service and 500 into the Narcotic Control Commission.

According to the Chronicle report, the Ministry will not make any advertisement in the National Dailies to call on qualified applicants to apply since the 11,000 to be recruited will be from a backlog from the previous years. The minority is therefore calling on the Interior Minister to do the needful, advertise the recruitment for qualified applicants to apply.
