Suspended Second Vice Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Crabbe, has waded into the Chairmanship race of the governing party to rub shoulders with the two main contenders, Acting chairman Freddy Blay and Former Vice chair Stephen Ntim.
As an opinionated member of the party, Mr. Crabbe said the president should be given the benefit of the doubt on the back of allegation that the president called Stephen Ntim to step down.
Speaking on Happy FM’s Epa Hoa Daben show, he said “Stephen has alleged, so let us hear Nana Addo’s side of the story”
Responding to a question whether or not Ahalji Short is a threat to him, he said “As for the contest unless you are not an NPP member because we have been trained with it and I’m ready to battle anyone.”
A year to the 2016 General Elections, the National Executive Committee of the NPP suspended Mr Crabbe indefinitely alongside then General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong and then Chairman Paul Afoko, for among other things, making utterances that were injurious to the chances of the then-opposition party’s presidential candidate Nana Akufo-Addo.
Their suspension has not yet been reversed.
