Health officials at the Dormaa Ahenkro Presbyterian Hospital are encouraging women to make regular breast self-examinations a key part of their health routine to promote early detection and treatment of breast-related conditions.
Madam Florence Effah, a Public Health Nurse at the facility, stressed the importance of monthly breast checks, noting that early detection greatly improves treatment outcomes. She explained that not all breast cancer cases lead to total breast removal, as several alternative treatment options are now available.
“Early detection saves lives,” she said. “Women should pay attention to any changes in their breasts and visit the hospital promptly for screening and professional advice.”
Madam Dorcas Okyere, a Midwife at the same hospital, highlighted that the Presbyterian Hospital has established a Well Women Clinic dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of women in and around Dormaa Ahenkro.
She urged women to take advantage of the clinic’s services for timely diagnosis and treatment.
