The Dormaa Central Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Dominic Adoma Ameyaw, has called on Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) to ensure the proper and prudent use of machinery under the District Road Improvement Program (DRIP).

Speaking to the press after a workshop with MMDCEs and DRIP Coordinators in Sunyani, the Bono Regional capital, Mr. Ameyaw stressed that the machines are meant for specific purposes such as improving deteriorated roads, reshaping roadways, and creating access routes.

He cautioned that using the machines for tasks outside their intended scope could cause damage and shorten their lifespan. “It is crucial to use the machinery judiciously to guarantee their extended service life,” he said.

The MCE further urged DRIP Coordinators to strictly follow directives from the National DRIP Coordinator and assembly leadership, warning that anyone found using the machines for personal gain would face legal consequences.

Describing the initiative as commendable, Mr. Ameyaw said adherence to the guidelines would sustain the machines’ functionality and contribute to government’s development agenda. He also thanked the National DRIP Coordinator for organizing the workshop, which he said would enhance the work of local assemblies.
