The Member of Parliament for Klottey Korle, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, has underscored the need to harness innovation and technology to transform Ghana’s agricultural sector, describing it as key to national development.
In a Facebook post after visiting the AgroTech Fair 2026 Exhibition at Independence Square, she highlighted the importance of aligning agricultural advancements with government policy objectives to drive growth in the sector.
Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings noted that the exhibition, a collaboration between Ghana Export-Import Bank and the Ministry of Trade, Agriculture and Industry, showcased impressive innovations and ideas capable of repositioning agriculture in the country.
She expressed optimism after engaging exhibitors and students, pointing out that the level of innovation on display demonstrates how agriculture can be made more attractive to the youth.
She emphasized that, Ghana possesses the necessary natural resources, including land, water and favourable weather conditions, as well as a strong human resource base to succeed in agriculture.
The Klottey Korle MP stressed that what remains critical is the commitment to effectively harness these strengths through the integration of technology and innovation.
She argued that with the right mindset, policy direction and political will, Ghana can transform its agricultural sector and achieve sustainable development.
