Easter celebration is fetish – Bible Scholar claims

Ghanaian Bible Scholar, Obadiah Amankwah, has emphatically described Easter celebrations as evil and non-existent in Christianity, adding “should not be celebrated.”

Talking to Rev. Nyansa Boakwa on Happy 98.9FM’s NsemPii, he said, “No matter how old the pastor is and what he says, never believe a man of God who tells you Easter is a Christian festival. Easter is a fetish festival to give sacrifices to a god called Semitic in Babylon.”

He explained the festival has been in existence for a long time, revealing the name Easter was derived from the word ‘Ishtar’ who is the goddess of fertility.

“What has the death of Jesus Christ got to do with colored rabbits?” he asked.

The Bible scholar advised Christians undertake thorough research to find out if indeed the Easter celebration was ever mentioned in the Bible.

He emphasized that Easter has nothing to do with the death of Jesus Christ.

“The originator of the Sun god came up with Easter because, if you take the ‘er’ at the end of Easter, what you get is East. The sun rises from the East so they brought Easter and used the death of Jesus Christ as cover up for their festish celebrations.”

The scholar advised Christians to stop paying so much attention to Easter celebrations as it is not a festival for Christians “and has nothing to do with the remembrance of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.”
