The Electoral Commission has announced that, it has started the deployment of Biometric Verification Devices (BVD) across the country.

According to the commission, some Biometric Verification Devices (BVD) have been sent to eight (8) regional armouries for safe keeping prior to the December 7 elections.

‘’It is important to know that our biometric verification devices (BVD) are also being prepared and we are confident that by this weekend all the Biometric verification devices would be safely lodged in the police armouries across the country. As we speak we have over 8 regions where the biometric verification devices haven’t been sent to and they are in safe keeping there’’.

Speaking during a stakeholders meeting, the Electoral Commission and members of the National Elections Security Taskforce, the Electoral Commission Chairperson, Jean Mensah mentioned that, all preparations regarding the voters register are done and have been disseminated across the country.

‘’All our registers have been prepared, we have completed the preparations of our voters register and they have been disseminated across the country’’.

She noted that, the commission is almost done with the printing of the ballot papers, as the ballot for the Northern, Bono and Bono East Regions would be sent to regional police armouries today, Tuesday November 26, 2024.

‘’We are also near completion with our ballots, the preparations of our ballot for the presidential and parliamentary elections and all the ballots with the exception of the Northern, Bono and Bono East Regions have been disseminated to our police armouries across the country today’’.
