The online publication which was attributed to Education Minister headlined; Double Track to end September, 2019 out of an interview he had on Asempa FM’s ‘Ekose Sen’ programme was a complete misrepresentation of what the Minister actually meant to communicate to the public, Deputy Public Relations Officer at the Education Ministry, Kwasi Obeng-Fosu, has revealed.

“How could a wish which was rightly captured in the said news report as…”;

”So it’s my wish that when all these projects are completed according to plan, then it’ll end by the next academic session,
could be misconstrued be headlined in a manner that outrageously changes the narrative of the Minister,” Mr Obeng-Fosu quizzed.
The Deputy PRO debunked this media reportage during his Two-day media encounter with the local radio stations in the Volta Region on Wednesday, 6 February, 2019.

The Ministry of Education is currently on a week-long media encounter on what is has termed
“Manifesto Watch” on the Education Sector.

The media engagement is meant to reach out to stakeholders and the general public on the various promises as captured by the NPP 2016 Campaign Manifesto on the Education Sector and how far the ministry has gone in realizing the various promises within two years of the NPP led administration.

It is also an opportunity to interact with key stakeholders as to the challenges and the way forward in the implementation of government’s flagship policy of Free SHS and the Double Track school calendar.

Mr. Obeng-Fosu explained the various infrastructure projects the government is undertaking to reduce facility deficits in our schools and also hinted of a new curriculum geared towards achieving the desired learning outcomes meant to prepare our students to meet modern standards.
