A man who attempted to snatch a ballot box at the Awutu Senya West Constituency has been shot dead by the police.
Information reaching GMABC election camp indicates that the incident occurred while officials of the Electoral Commission were counting the votes.
Happy FM’s correspondent, Joseph Nii Ankrah speaking to host Raymond Nyamador revealed: “Some unidentified men came to snatch the ballot box and then the policeman fired a shot killing one. At the moment, we still don’t know which party this men were helping by snatching the boxes. But the body of the deceased has been deposited at the nearest hospital”.
Meanwhile the men believed to be the accomplices of the deceased have been arrested by the police to assist with the investigations.
This news comes few hours after reports of shooting incidents at the Awutu Senya East constituency that left two people injured.
