Former president John Dramani Mahama has alleged that there is collusion between the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the Electoral Commission (EC) to rig the upcoming election.

The flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress urged Ghanaians to be vigilant on Election Day because they can vote the government out but their mandate will be stolen.

John Mahama said the incident at Gomoa East where the Electoral Commission have hired known NPP members to supervise the elections as prove of their collusion.

“We need to be vigilant because you can vote the government out but your vote will be stolen. This week I saw a video recording of EC employing NPP members to supervise the elections in Gomoa East and that is the collusion we have been talking about.”

“65 people employed in Gomoa East are all NPP members with NPP cards. How can the EC do that? The same thing has happened in Guaboso and that cannot be allowed to continue.”

John Mahama further urged the EC to replace all the NPP members on their books as supervisors because the NDC will not allow this to happen.

“We expect the EC to replace all these people because now we in the NDC are not joking. People with NPP membership cards cannot be allowed to supervise any general elections in this country.”

He also told Police and Army recruits to dismiss the propaganda that they will sack them if they (NDC) are voted into power.

“The NPP is now telling police and army recruits who are still in training that we will sack all of them when we win power. I want to tell the recruits that we are not like the NPP who sacked those in training when they took over power in 2017.”
