Emmanuel Ofori, Cynthia Arthur emerge winners of Asawa National Open Table Tennis Championship

Emmanuel Ofori and Cynthia Kwaba Arthur emerged as winners of the Asawa National Open Table Tennis Championship held at the Apenteng Hall in Koforidua on Saturday.

The championship was organized by National table tennis star Isaac Opoku popularly known as Asawa.

The Championship saw over 200 table tennis players competing in various categories for the prizes at stake.

Emmanuel Ofori from the Ghana Army won the men’s category, followed by Emmanuel Asante from the National Fire Service taking the second spot and James Marfo in third position.

In the women’s category Cynthia Kwabi Arthur from the Ghana Immigration Service emerged the winner. Beatrice Pokua Gyasi took second position and Blessing Larbanti came up third in the group.

All the semi-finalist received cash prices, products from Promasidor and a medal trophy.

Member of Parliament for New Juaben South, Michael Okyere Baafi thanked the organizers for staging the event and promised to help promote the sport across the country.

The winner of the Men’s category Emmanuel Ofori was also presented with a laptop by the Member of Parliament.

Some other top personalities to grace the event were Ghana Table Tennis Association president Mawuko Afadjanu, ITTF Certified Empire Charles Techie Mensah and Honourable Isaac Apau, MCE of New Juaben South.
