Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has shared his remorse for contributing largely to the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari in the country’s 2015 elections.

He made this public declaration in an interview with Happy 98.9 FM’s Afrifa-Mensa, host of the Epa Hoa Daben political talk show. “I apologize to Nigerians for bringing Buhari to power. I have done that and I apologize again”.

Regardless of being prosecuted and exiled from Nigeria, the statesman has pledged to do everything in his power to right this grievous wrong of his.

Assuring the people of Nigeria of peace and equity, he said, “The people of Nigeria will be safe once more and the Presidency will pay for all atrocities committed against the people of Nigeria”.

Saddened by the recent shooting and deaths of innocent protestors at the hand of the Nigerian military force he stated, “It is sad for a President to use its own people against themselves”.

He believes being in exile has helped him fight against the corrupt and sadistic Buhari-led government especially as these protests take place. “My life is in danger and I know the government is doing everything to bring me down. I am outside Nigeria because I would’ve been arrested or killed and couldn’t support the fight in my current capacity”.

Numerous people were hurt in a shooting at a toll gate in the Lekki district, a focal point of nearly two weeks of nationwide protests against allegations of systematic police brutality.

Four witnesses said soldiers had fired the bullets and at least two people had been shot. Two of the witnesses said the lights were turned off at the gate shortly before the shooting began. One said he saw soldiers remove bodies.

The city was placed under a round-the-clock curfew on Wednesday which was enforced by police roadblocks, as smoke rose from a flashpoint area in Nigeria’s biggest city where soldiers shot at protesters the previous evening, witnesses said.
