The Ghana National Association of Farmers and Fishermen is demanding an unqualified apology from the General Secretary of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association, Dr. David Tenkorang Twum.
The group says Dr. Tenkorang Twum made derogatory remarks about the Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, and farmers during a media interview.
In a strongly worded statement, GNAFF condemned the comments as disrespectful and unprovoked. The association stressed that farmers remain the backbone of the country’s economy, ensuring food security and contributing to national development.
GNAFF says it is shocked that such remarks came from a leader of a professional body, who should uphold decorum and respect.
The Association has given Dr. Tenkorang Twum 24 hours to retract the comments and apologise. It warns that failure to do so will force farmers and fishermen to take steps to defend their dignity.
