The Parliament of Ghana on Friday 26th of July approved an amount of €1,517,040.00 (ONE MILLION, FIVE HUNDRED AND SEVENTEEN THOUSAND AND FORTY MILLION EUROS) for the supply and installation of integrated E-learning laboratories in Senior High Schools in Ghana.

The Chairman of the Finance committee, Patrick Yaw Boamah, speaking at a press briefing held in Parliament today, stated that the said amount will be helpful to the education sector. He indicated that the committee is satisfied with the report because it is in the right direction. He commended the house especially the minority for supporting the report for its approval in order to acquire ICT equipment to enhance E-learning at the Senior High Schools level.

The Okaikwei Central MP stated that, in 2020 the government approved some amount to help with the construction of about 240 E- laboratories in some Senior High Schools across the Country. He elaborated that the approval made on Friday was for additional financing for the next phase covering 174 schools. He added that, it is a step in the right direction since the government is trying to integrate and introduce a lot of ICT infrastructure into second cycle schools.
