Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta has revealed that the 2020 Budget and Economic Policy will be without help from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has suggested by the minority in parliament.

Presenting the Financial Policy of the government for 2020 in Parliament on Wednesday, the Minister for Finance said “economic growth has rebounded strongly from 3.4 percent in 2016 to an average of over 7 percent during the past 2 years. For this Mr. Speaker, the 2020 budget will be unique.”

He added, “the reasons are (1) Election year, (2) Without IMF program (3) Prepared under self-imposed fiscal constraint (4) From negative outlook to positive outlook, (5) Final budget of Nana Addo’s first term.

On measures to boost domestic revenue mobilisation, he said, “we changed all the commissioners and that is expected to yield some serious results.”
