Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has attributed the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) electoral performance in the 2024 general elections to the economic hardship faced by Ghanaians.
Speaking during his flagbearership campaign tour in Wasa Akropong, Dr. Bawumia noted that many people did not vote for the NPP due to the high cost of commodity prices and hardship in the country.
“The fuel increment implemented just before the elections was particularly contentious, angering many Ghanaians, especially drivers.”
Dr. Bawumia also criticized some party leaders for their role in the party’s performance, citing insults as a contributing factor.
