The Leader of government business and a member of Parliament for Effutu constituency, Alexander Afenyo Markin has revealed that the minister of education will present the FREE SHS bill to Parliament for consideration.

He explained that to make Free SHS justifiable there is the need to enact a law to regulate it, since it’s a policy by government. He indicated that the Free SHS bill if passed into law will become mandatory for every government to implement it.

“The bill is being considered by the House, no government will have the right to say I’m not going to enforce free SHS, unless it’s repealed.” He explained

Mr. Afenyo Markin stated that, stakeholder engagements with Civil society organizations and individuals are ongoing to gather inputs to enrich the bill.

Speaking at the leader’s Media briefing in Parliament, on business scheduled for this meeting, he highlighted ten(10) important Bills currently before the house, including; Parliament bill, Presidential transition bill and Vaccine manufacturing bill, among others. He added that the Minister of Finance, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam , is expected to present to Parliament the Mid-Year budget review before ending of July, 2024
