An Educationist, Saed Banda, has said that he is looking forward to the NDC administration to engage stakeholders in the Education sector to outline policies that will make the education system more robust and effective, particularly the Free SHS policy.

According to him, the statement by this current administration for reviewing the free SHS policy does not mean that they are going to cancel it.

In an interview with Happy Kaseɛbɔ, the educationist explained that review is different from cancelation so he is optimistic that the Free SHS policy that was introduced by the previous government will still continue and serve the good people of Ghana.

He added that the government will put proper measures and policies in place to make sure that the Free SHS improves to benefit the people of Ghana.

“Reviewing simply means identifying the strength and weakness of the policy so that going forward, proper measures would be put in place to make the policy robust and sustainable for the Ghanaian populace”.

His comment comes after the Minister Designate for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, reiterated the NDC’s commitment to review the Free SHS policy when he appeared before the appointment committee.
