Boxer Patrick Allotey granted GHC 100K bail

The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), has suspended boxer Patrick Allotey for six months following his assault on a Kotoko fan.

Allotey assaulted Michael Siaw  at the Accra Sports Stadium during the Super Two clash between Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.

The boxer was seen in viral video throwing punches at the fan, injuring him in the process.

The GBA summoned the boxer for his unprofessional act which he accepted and in a release  has been suspended for six months with immediate effect.

In a statement signed by the President of the Ghana Boxing Authority Peter Zwennes read, “ We refer to the Discplinary Proceedings conducted by the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) yesterday the 5th day of February 2020 into the charges of misconduct  levelled against you in wake of the Accra Sports Stadium incident.

GBA suspends Patrick Allotey for 6 months after fan assault

“Following the hearing the GBA found you liable on your own plea and has imposed a SIX  months suspension of your professional boxing license as the appropriate sanction”.

“The suspension takes effect from today the 6th day of February 2020”.

“The GBA will notify the sanctioning bodies about this development and you are comply according”.

Patrick Allotey in an interview on Ghana’s number one sports station, Happy FM pleaded with the GBA to forgive him and ready to comply with any sanction from the GBA.

“I will also plead with the GBA to also forgive me”

Meanwhile, Michael Siaw the Kotoko fan assaulted in this case disclosed to Happy FM that the matter will be settle in court and has ruled out any out of court settlement.
