GES releases the 2024/25 academic calendar for Senior High Schools

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released the 2024/ 2025 academic calendar for all second cycle institutions.

In a statement released by the Education service, the 2024/2025 academic year begins on Wednesday October 30, 2024.

All first year students transitioning to second year are to end their academic year on Monday 28th October, 2024 and be promoted immediately to second year.

“Incoming first year students for Single Track and Transitional Schools will also begin school on Wednesday, 30th October, 2024. Additionally, all continuing students in Single Track Schools will re-open for the new academic year on Wednesday, 30th October, 2024.”

The statement added that, “this reopening date aims to ensure that the school calendar reverts to a September start in the coming years and students will be able to write their 2024/2025 WASSCE in May/June 2025”.
