Former Black Galaxies and Accra Great Olympics coach Annor Walker has expressed disappointment over the organization of the 2025 GHALCA Top 4 competition, questioning why two of Ghana’s biggest clubs, Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko – agreed to take part in a tournament without sponsorship.
“It’s just unfortunate that this tournament was allowed to go on when there is no sponsorship,” Walker told EOS Official, monitored by Happy Sports.
“I wonder why the two strong or big teams in Ghana football, Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, participated in such a tournament which has no sponsors. We expect that next year it should be well organized and have sponsorship”, he lamented.

His comments come on the back of Hearts of Oak’s commanding 2-0 win over rivals Kotoko in the final round of games at the University of Ghana Stadium.
The Phobians, however, despite their impressive performance, missed out on the trophy to Bibiani GoldStars, who clinched the title on head-to-head advantage.
Asante Kotoko on the other hand had a tournament to forget after failing to win at least a single game out of three matches. They lost all three scoring just a goal while conceding 5.
The GHALCA Top 4 nonetheless provided all four participating clubs (Hearts of Oak, Heart of Lions, Asante Kotoko and Bibiani GoldStars) with valuable pre-season tests ahead of the upcoming 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
