The Ghana Digital and Innovation Week (GDIW) 2025 has officially commenced, marking a nationwide celebration of creativity, technology, and entrepreneurship under the theme “Catalysing Change: Innovation and Digital Transformation at the Centre of Ghana’s Development Agenda.”

Hosted by a consortium comprising Impact Investing Ghana (IIGH), the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), and the Ghana Hubs Network, this year’s GDIW highlights how digital innovation is transforming local economies and empowering communities across the country.

Now in its fifth year, the annual conference has kicked off with a series of regional editions held in Takoradi, Koforidua, Techiman, Wa, and Kumasi, with additional events scheduled in Tamale.

These events have set the stage for a vibrant national dialogue, showcasing local innovators and startups that are developing practical solutions to real-world challenges, from agritech and climate-smart innovations to digital trade and youth entrepreneurship.

This growing regional momentum reflects a strong culture of collaboration, as innovators, policymakers, and private sector players work hand in hand to shape Ghana’s digital future.

Speaking at the launch, Mr Emmanuel Ofori, the Director of Innovation at the Ministry of Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations, highlighted how the event aligns with the government’s commitment to building an enabling environment for digital transformation through strategic investments in infrastructure, youth digital skills, and innovation-driven entrepreneurship.

“We remain committed to building the digital rails upon which transformation can happen,” said Mr Ofori. “From broadband expansion and e-government services to the rollout of digital ID systems, the real power of transformation lies in our people and platforms, the startups, innovators, and partnerships that give meaning to innovation.”

Representing the wider innovation ecosystem, Yaw Adu-Gyamfi, Chairperson of the Ghana Hubs Network, emphasised the continued relevance of GDIW in driving collaboration and systemic growth.

“Since 2021, GDIW has served as a beacon of collaboration, reflection, and renewal within Ghana’s innovation space,” he said. “This year’s theme signals maturity in our ecosystem; one that moves beyond ideas to focus on systems, jobs, and impact. GDIW is a national call to action where ideas meet investment, policy meets people, and innovation meets opportunity.”

GDIW 2025 continues to demonstrate how collective effort can drive inclusive digital transformation. The Consortium remains committed to advancing a digitally inclusive, innovation-driven Ghana through policy advocacy, investment readiness support, and the amplification of homegrown innovations from communities nationwide.

As the journey builds toward the Grand Finale in Accra from November 12–14, 2025, anticipation is rising for a national celebration that will bring together regional winners, ecosystem leaders, and international partners to showcase Ghana’s innovation story to the world.
