The Ghana Highway Authority, under the Ministry of Roads and Highways, has commenced the installation of crash barriers along key road corridors as part of efforts to enhance highway safety and reduce road accidents.

The new installation works are taking place along the Koforidua-Mamfe-Aburi Highway, Brimso Bridge, and at two key points opposite the Achimota Forest near the Dimples Roundabout in Accra.

An official statement from the Authority on Saturday, April 12, said this initiative follows the successful completion of similar safety enhancements on the Aburi-Nsawam stretch, which has resulted in a noticeable reduction in accidents along that corridor.

Messrs Hacianda Enterprise Ltd has officially taken possession of the sites and is the contractor in charge of executing the project.

“This vital road safety exercise aims to protect road users and enhance overall highway safety,” the statement noted, while also advising motorists to exercise caution when driving through the active construction zones.

The Ghana Highway Authority expressed gratitude to the public for their cooperation and reaffirmed its commitment to creating safer road networks for all Ghanaians.
