The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has announced the appointment of Chefs de Mission (CDMs) for five major international multi-sport events taking place between 2025 and 2026.
This move highlights the GOC’s dedication to strong leadership, athlete support, and the promotion of Ghanaian culture and Olympic values on the world stage.
The newly appointed Chefs de Mission will lead Ghana’s delegations at their respective games, ensuring the welfare of athletes, officials, and support staff, while also promoting Olympic and Commonwealth sport values.
They are also tasked with showcasing Ghanaian culture during these prominent events.
The appointees and their assignments are as follows: Mr. Michael Ntow Ayeh will lead the team to the Africa School Games in Algeria from July 26 to August 5, 2025; Mr. Bawah Fuseini will head the delegation to the Africa Youth Games in Angola in December 2025; Mr. Mohammed Mahadi will serve as CDM for the Winter Olympic Games in Italy from February 6 to 22, 2026; Mr. Ernest Danso will oversee the Commonwealth Games in Scotland from July 23 to August 2, 2026; and Mr. Evans Kojo Yeboah will lead the Youth Olympic Games contingent in Senegal from October 30 to November 13, 2026.
Expressing confidence in the appointees, the GOC stated that these leaders are expected to provide guidance and strive for excellence as Ghana’s representatives on the international stage.
The committee reaffirmed its commitment to supporting athletes and officials as they compete at these prestigious games.
This strategic appointment is part of the GOC’s broader efforts to ensure Ghana’s effective and coordinated participation in major international sporting events over the next two years.
