The Ghana Police Service (GPS) has commenced the second phase of its 2025/2026 recruitment exercise today, January 12, 2026, across all 16 regions of the country.

This phase involves body selection and documentation of shortlisted applicants and is being conducted at about 70 screening centres nationwide.

Earlier, the Ministry of the Interior announced that the exercise would be carried out in two sessions, morning and afternoon, as a strategic measure to prevent overcrowding at the various centres.

The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mubarak, has cautioned police applicants against engaging individuals who claim they can influence the recruitment process through so-called “protocol” arrangements.

Speaking to the media after touring several screening centres in the Greater Accra Region to observe the process firsthand, the Minister stressed that the recruitment exercise is transparent, free, and fair.

He therefore urged applicants to refrain from paying money to anyone who promises to secure them positions through unofficial means, warning that such practices undermine the integrity of the recruitment process.
