Ghana has been ranked among the top ten futsal national teams in Africa, joining an elite list that includes Algeria, Angola, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Libya, Guinea, Mauritania, Mozambique, and Zambia.
The ranking comes with a significant competitive advantage for the Black Stars Futsal team, as it earns Ghana a direct bye from the preliminary round of the Futsal Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. This means the team will advance straight to the final qualifying stage, putting them just one step away from securing a place at the continental finals.
Attention now turns to the final qualifying draw, scheduled for Wednesday, January 7, 2026, in Morocco, where Ghana will discover its opponent in the last hurdle on the road to Futsal AFCON 2026.
