Ghana Table Tennis team secures $80,000 sponsorship deal

The Ghana Table Tennis Association have secured an $80, 000 worth of sponsorship to enable them grow the game in the country.
Mawuko Afagyanu, the president of the federation has confirmed to Ohene Bampoe-Brenya in an interview on Happy FM’s Anopa Bosuo Sports.
“Stag international is one of the biggest sporting kit producers in the world, they operate in 202 countries. What they’re doing for us is to provide for us equipment worth $80,000 and in return, we have guaranteed them in an undertaking of better performance of our team. We’re also in contract with them to wear stag anywhere both in our international and local tournaments in order to let people hear about them and know they’re the best in the world,” he said on Happy FM.
“One major problem of the association has been lack of tables for the game, but with this sponsorship, every regional capital will get at least a table and with time, we’ll get the Table Tennis sport across the country. This will help beef up the interest in the sport,” Mawuko added.
