Ghana has been chosen as the host nation for the upcoming WAFU U-17 boys tournament, set to take place in the capital city of Accra.

The event, slated for May, promises a thrilling showcase of talent as teams from Nigeria, Cote D’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Togo, Benin, and Niger gear up to compete.

With Nigeria emerging as the defending champions, anticipation runs high for intense matches and fierce competition. Notably, this championship holds added significance as it will also serve as qualifiers for the prestigious TotalEnergies U17 Africa Cup of Nations, adding an extra layer of intensity to the games.

Ghana’s national U-17 team, the Black Starlets, are on a mission for redemption following their previous early exit.

Under the guidance of Coach Laryea Kingston, the team is diligently preparing to showcase their prowess on the field and make their mark in the tournament.

The WAFU U-17 boys tournament kicks off on May 15 and runs through May 29, 2024.
